Tavily Knowledge - Company adds company records to /search and /extract results, with global coverage of 35M+ companies. Pass the name or domain you have, and a record with the company’s identity, funding, M&A and more may come back in the same call, at the same price. In /search, a record appears in results[] next to web pages, ranked by score like every other result.

What’s in a company record

One page per company

Name, website, legal name, headquarters, LinkedIn page and founded year, at the top of every record.

Social and contact

LinkedIn page and follower count, social profiles, and the company’s general contact email.

Funding and financials

Financials, funding rounds, acquisitions, and who acquired the company.

Products and technology

Product keywords and the technologies the company uses.

Web traffic and reputation

Monthly visits, site rank, bounce rate, employee review score and open roles.

Classification

Industry, SIC and NAICS codes, and whether the company is public or private.

Quick start

This request turns a company’s domain into its record, with its LinkedIn page and social profiles.
Response:

Read a company record

1

Spot the record

A result whose url starts with https://tavily.com/knowledge/company/ is a company record. The ID at the end of the URL stays the same when the record refreshes, so you can store it and look the record up again later.
2

Check the identity header

content starts with the company name as a Markdown heading (# monday.com), then the ID, website, legal name, headquarters and LinkedIn page.
3

Read the other sections

Sections vary by company. Each one starts with a ## heading, such as ## Funding, ## M&A, ## Technology or ## Web traffic.
4

Get the full record when you need it

/search returns the header plus the best-matching sections, joined with [...]. /extract without a query returns the full record in raw_content.

Open a company record in your browser

Every company record’s url is also a public web page. Open it in a browser, with no API key, to see a preview: the company’s name, identifiers, a short description and headline firmographics. The full record is available only through the API.

Best practices

Use the most specific name you have: the domain, or the name plus what the company does.
  • A shared name can return a different company. Validate the record’s website, legal name and headquarters against your input, and drop the record if they don’t match.
  • Records appear at basic and advanced depth, not at fast or ultra-fast, and with topic=general (the default).
  • Any include_domains list turns company records off, so you can’t limit /search to company records. To get one known company, call /extract on its record URL.

Use cases

Enrich a CRM account

Ask for the fields your CRM needs. This query returns Personio’s record with its industry, headquarters and founded year.
Ask who owns a company. This query returns Wolt’s record, which names DoorDash as its parent company.
If you have the record URL, pass it to /extract with a query. The response returns the identity header plus the sections that best answer the query, up to chunks_per_source of them. This one returns Rippling’s funding rounds, total raised and investors.
Store the record URL from a past search and extract it on your schedule. You get the full current record without searching by name again. This call fetches Notion’s record.

Limits

Freshness

FAQ

Tavily Knowledge - Company brings together public data about each company, such as its website, professional and social profiles, funding and acquisition records, and employee reviews, and merges it into one record.
No. Company records come back from the same /search and /extract calls you already make.
No. A request costs the same credits whether or not it returns a record.
Tavily may not have a record for that company, the record may rank below your max_results cut, or the request sets include_domains, which turns records off. Try the domain or the name plus what the company does, or raise max_results. If you have the record URL, call /extract on it.
Drop it. Validate the record’s website, legal name and headquarters against your input before you use any record.
