# Workato

> Connect Tavily to Workato recipes for web search, content extraction, crawling, mapping, and research.

[Workato](https://www.workato.com/integrations/tavily) connects business applications through automated workflows called recipes. Add Tavily to bring web research into workflows such as account enrichment, competitor monitoring, and content collection.

## Prerequisites

* A Workato workspace where you can install and release connectors and create connections.
* A [Tavily API key](https://app.tavily.com) with available credits.

## Connect Tavily

The steps and screenshots below follow [Workato's Tavily connector documentation](https://docs.workato.com/en/connectors/tavily).

**1. Install the connector**

Search for **Tavily** in the recipe editor or the [community library](https://www.workato.com/browse/connectors). Open the connector and click **Install**.

**2. Release it to your workspace**

Select **Release connector**, or **Review code** if you want to inspect it first. Enter a release summary and click **Release** to make the connector available in recipes.

## Example: collect product news in Google Sheets

Create a research log for your sales or marketing team. Connect Google Sheets to Workato and create a sheet with **Title**, **URL**, and **Snippet** column headers.

1. Choose **Create → Recipe → Run on a schedule**. Configure [Scheduler by Workato's New recurring event](https://docs.workato.com/en/features/scheduler/triggers/new-recurring-event) to run weekly, selecting the day, time, and timezone.
2. Add **Tavily → Search web** and select your Tavily connection. Set **Query** to `Stripe product announcements`, **Topic** to **News**, **Search depth** to **Advanced**, and **Max results** to `3`. Replace Stripe with a company you follow.
3. Add **Google Sheets → [Add rows in bulk](https://docs.workato.com/en/connectors/google-sheets/action-add-rows)** and select your spreadsheet and sheet. Map Tavily's **Results** list to **Rows source list**, then map each result's title, URL, and content snippet to the corresponding sheet columns.
4. [Test the recipe](https://docs.workato.com/en/recipes/testing), inspect the Tavily output and added rows, then start the recipe when ready.

To read a source in more detail, add **Extract page content** and pass it a URL returned by **Search web**.
